Toolrent went to Shark Tank yesterday in Vegas. It was the first open call for season 9, and we are not expected to hear anything back for a number of weeks if they decide to pick us. As always, I think the interview went well. They gave us a one minute interview period which was more than enough time to say "I have the AirBNB for tools" and then show them the app. Now if it was enough for them to remember me or not we will see as time progresses. For now we wait, and continue to do the things that help us grow on a daily basis.

Everyday Tools Are Cool!

Everyday tools are just as cool as the larger heavier equipment. When most people think of renting tools they think of Earth moving tractors, or cranes, or large trucks. When in reality the smaller items like drills, plumbing snakes, and welders get rented the most. Stuff that people like you have in the garage. Contractors forget things at home all the time. You never know when it would be more convenient to rent your shop-vac for $15 than driving 25 miles back to the shop or purchasing new for $100.
The app is going to watch your tools for you. We are constantly looking for better options for insurance on your asset. We are finding better ways to track the item and let you know in real time. You can rest assured that if something goes wrong with your rent that the ToolRent team will be there to help correct the issue.

ToolRent is starting to make it appearances on the web after a year in development. We are a simple Android app for now, quickly approaching a multi platform status with our web and iOS versions. Toolrent allows people to rent out the tool they bought for the one DIY project a year ago to the contractor who left his tool at home, or allows the contractor who needs a break after a busy year to make money off the tools he isn't currently using. The app is designed to make it more efficient to rent out tools and to bring the community sharing back into the picture like you see Airbnb, Turo, and Uber doing.

Everyone at the ToolRent team hopes you find the app as a benefit to your day to day. If so, we would love to hear about it (hello@toolrent.com). If not, we would definitely like to hear about it in order to correct the issue, and offer our apologies(support@toolrent.com).
